West Ham are in negotiations with Chelsea over a Raheem Sterling West Ham loan move, ExWHUEmployee has reported exclusively on The West Ham Way Patreon.
The 30-year-old former England international is available for another temporary switch from Stamford Bridge after spending the 2024-25 campaign on loan at Arsenal. Sterling joined Arsenal on loan for the 2024-25 season before returning back to Chelsea in June, where he has been completely frozen out of the squad.
Upon returning to Stamford Bridge, Sterling was completely exiled from the squad, being forced to train separately and barred from the main club facilities. The winger has not made a single appearance for Chelsea since May 2024 under manager Enzo Maresca.
Born in Kingston, Jamaica on 8 December 1994, Sterling has 82 England caps to his name. He began his career at Queens Park Rangers before joining Liverpool in 2010, later moving to Manchester City in 2015 where he won four Premier League titles. Chelsea signed him in July 2022 on a five-year contract.

During his loan spell at Arsenal last season, Sterling scored one goal and provided five assists in 28 appearances. However, his struggles for form continued at the Emirates Stadium, prompting his return to west London.
Sterling’s wages remain a significant obstacle in any potential deal. The £300,000-a-week star needs to leave the club to play regularly, but his hefty salary has deterred clubs from making permanent offers. The Raheem Sterling West Ham loan option would allow the Hammers to bring in an experienced forward without committing to his full wages long-term.
Graham Potter needs attacking reinforcements at the London Stadium. The Hammers currently rely heavily on Jarrod Bowen for goal contributions, and Sterling’s arrival would provide much-needed depth in wide positions.
Sterling has made 396 appearances in the top flight during his career, scoring 123 goals and assisting 64 times. His four Premier League titles, five Football League Cups and FA Cup winners’ medal showcase his pedigree at the highest level.
Chelsea are desperate to move Sterling on permanently but have struggled to find buyers willing to match his wage demands. A loan arrangement appears the most realistic solution for all parties, allowing Sterling to gain regular minutes while Chelsea continue to reduce their bloated wage bill.
